No matter why you are here, we are just glad that you are here.

Every year thousands of children write letters to Santa and tell him of their desires for Christmas morning. As you just witnessed, not all of them are what you might expect.

The Postal Service does not fund nor maintain a national "Letters to Santa" program. However in 1912, Postmaster General Fred H. Hitchcock first authorized postmasters to allow individuals or institutions to use letters addressed to "Santa Claus" for philanthropic purposes.

May God bless his soul for doing so.

There are "Two" missions Santa’s Heart strives to accomplish.

The PRIMARY mission is to raise awareness of the work done by the US Postal Service in conjunction with school teachers across America.  Our goal is to assist the volunteers who already answer Santa's mail and by doing so, we hope to increase participation in this yearly miracle.

The SECONDARY mission is to assist volunteers who want to help but cannot perform all the tasks at hand. We became aware that there are many who want to help answer Santa's mail.

There are two types of people who we seek to assist.

People with "TIME" are volunteers we call "HELPERS".

There are many people who have the time to go to the Regional Post Offices that process Santa letters and who have the ability to scan and upload the letters into the Santa's Heart system.

People with "RESOURCES" are volunteers we call "ELVES".

Since we focus our attention on children in need, there is a need for people who have the heart and the resources to "Adopt A Letter" and answer them.

This "adoption" requires a commitment of at least writing a letter to the child, (on behalf of Santa Claus, of course!) acknowledging the child and the letter that Santa received.

Many see the need written in the child's letter and assist Santa Claus by sending the letter writer gifts. Anything given above the mandatory letter is considered a blessing.

Seldom do we find people with both the "TIME" and "RESOURCES" to complete the entire task at hand.

Santa's Heart facilitates the volunteers with "TIME" to work anonymously in unison with the volunteers with "RESOURCES" to help the children.

This provides more people the opportunity to view and participate in the "Adopt a Letter" program.

Today because of technology, many more children and people in need benefit from the kindness of strangers during the Holiday Season.

Santa's Heart, Inc. and this site are singular in purpose. We are a Non-Profit Corporation dedicated to facilitating the volunteers who spread the magic of Christmas by answering the letters written to Santa Claus that the big man himself is unable to do. These volunteers make the world a better place.

We need many volunteers now.

Thank you,

Santa's Heart.
